Flowcharts

0:00 Alright, in this video, I'm really excited to show you the flow chart that we can create basically automatically from the workflow steps that we have now mapped. 0:09 So, I'm going to scroll under the workflow steps table and I'm going to toggle open the flow chart section. It's gonna open up the scary looking code section and it's gonna look worse before it looks better, but it's gonna be really, really easy. 0:21 So, we're gonna scroll back up to the workflow steps area. We're going to scroll all the way down to these two flow chart columns. 0:29 Now there's two of them. One is flowchart steps, one is flowchart styling, and so you can either expand the column so that you can actually see what it says or you can simply hover to make sure that you are getting the right one. 0:42 So we're going to start with workflow steps. So I'm going to click and drag to highlight the entire column of the flowchart steps field. 0:51 And so the thing is if I just click in this top column, it's going to pull up this edit formula window and it's gonna be scary and weird and look terrible. 1:02 Don't edit anything there, it will mess things up, so if this happens to you, just click Done, move on, click off of it, and instead you gotta click and drag all in one. 1:09 Okay, and you cannot also highlight the whole column, so if I tried to do it that way, it wouldn't work, even if I copied it, it's not gonna copy correctly. 1:17 So you need to click and drag in order to copy everything, and then you're gonna do Command or Control-C, and then you're gonna scroll down back to the photo area where this section says Work flow steps, paste in flow chart step call. 1:30 So we are going to lead A there. There will always be an A there. We're going to go down to the next line and we are going to paste in everything we just copy. 1:38 Then we're going to go back up to the flow chart styling column and we're going to do the same thing. 1:42 Click and drag in order to get those. We're going to do command C or control C to copy and then we're going to scroll down and this time we got to go all the way to the bottom to the flow chart styling section. 1:54 And so again, we want to leave this first one that's there, the class A circle style, we're going to go down to the next line and do command or control V to paste in. 2:03 All right, now we are done pasting. So of no, is it you don't want to do this till you're done with the workflow because this is not going to update automatically. 2:10 You have to re-copy all the steps every single time you make an update. Okay, so once we're all done, we're going to do this process and then we are going to hover so that we see this little code menu pop up. 2:22 We're going to click the drop down and we're going to change it to preview. And now that code that we put in that was generated automatically is making this really nice flow chart for us that just outlines all of the different steps that happen. 2:35 And you'll see that the items like zero hours after work flow started that is showing up on top of the line. 2:42 It's not actually a box. It does have that white background, but the point is just that it's showing that those aren't a step. 2:49 Those are what leads to the steps happening. Whereas you can see like these ones I didn't fully fill it in and so those are missing. 2:58 So this is always going to make just like a straight line down flow chart for you. This is probably still going to be easier on the eyes for your client to look at. 3:06 But there are ways to make this more advanced. So if you're interested in that make sure that you check out the flow chart video in the advanced module. 3:14 However, if this is good enough for you then that's great. I would wait to do this until the very end. 3:19 I would probably then take screenshots of these, put them in a PDF that you can gift route to your client and or if you are sharing this, their client page with them, then they might open up their workloads and find this themselves. 3:33 If you ever need additional information on this that is also written here so you can also toggle open how to generate flow chart directions and then there are different little bits here so that you can customize more and get a lot more detailed with your flow charts.
