Creating Quotes
Creating a Quote
Every time you create a new client, a blank quote is automagically created for them. But if it’s a returning client coming back for a new project, you’ll need to create a new one manually. No biggie.
Where to Start
Head to your Setup OS home page, scroll down to the Quote Calculator section, and select the “Projects to Quote” view.
- If this is a brand-new client, a blank quote will already be waiting for you.
- If it’s an existing client, click “New” to start a fresh quote.
What to Fill Out
Use the Quote Checklist to make sure you’re entering everything needed to get a Suggested Quote calculated. Required fields include:
- Project Title
- Client
- My Package
- Client Industry
- # of Services
- EXTRA Users (any users beyond 1 — if it’s a solopreneur, this is 0)
- Demeanor
- Tech Savviness
Once all of those are filled in, your Suggested Quote will calculate automatically.
After you issue the quote, update the Issued Quote field with the actual amount you sent, and change the Project Status to “Quote Issued.” Boom. Tracked and tidy.
Pro Tips
- Even if it’s a standard package, still create a quote. This kicks off the project structure cleanly and ensures everything downstream (workflows, automations, timelines) is ready to go.
- Yes, there’s a Zap for that. If you want new leads to appear here automatically, there’s a walkthrough waiting for you in the Advanced Module.
And just so you know...
Every time you create a client, a default project is created too - the one that comes with The Setup OS is “DFY Setup.” If that’s not the right fit, just update the My Package field to change it.
Want to change what your system defaults to? There’s a lesson for that in the Advanced Module.
